My approach to furniture design can be broken down into 2 categories.
1) Furniture designed for specific clients.
There are many determining factors: architectural style and the scale of the room, room layout, function of the room and the piece of furniture, and type of wood species.
2) A piece designed for fun to be used in the retail store.
These pieces come from my imagination and the character of the wood or tree itself. In either category I start with a sketch of the idea and refine it to a scale drawing with dimensions.
FYI - All my designs use dead standing trees that are harvested and additionally kiln dried.

These are a very few of the rustic furniture pieces we design and make. We also have many dining table designs, coffee and end table designs, bookcases and desks.
