This is another piece designed for a client. The space is a large foyer that spans 3 stories and has very large log construction. It had to be large in scale but not solid because we did not want to cover the openness of the stairways. A traditional console table was just not large enough in length or height. We call this squirrely leg because the design starts with the really gnarly branches or a large seed producing Jackpine tree. The top is two pretty slabs with the edge left natural, and another interesting slab for the apron. All the finishes are a hand-rubbed wax.
